Michelle J Parker FWCB Master Blacksmith has run her own business forging steel for more than twenty years. Michelle is now the first professional female blacksmith to be appointed as a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths. This is in their entire 700 year history, since being incorporated by prescription by King Edward I in 1325

Most people see steel as being cold, hard and lifeless, but something encouraged Michelle to go beyond that and see what could be done when steel met fire. She soon discovered that steel took on a completely different medium, no longer cold and lifeless but full  of  life and movement.

Having completed an HND in Three Dimensional Design in Blacksmithing, she works alone designing and making quality hot forged steel work.

Based in Worcestershire, Michelle accepts commissions from across the UK and overseas.

She was awarded a Bronze Medal from the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths in 2007
and also the Freedom of the City of London in 2007
and is the first professional female blacksmith to become a Liveryman of the Worshipful company of Blacksmiths in 700 years of their history.
